All For Animals #36: Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days

All For Animals host Susan Richard checks out the largest free adoption event in the country in June of 2013, in which The Maddie’s Fund granted $4 million in subsidies so that rescue groups across the country could waive the fees for potential adopters. That included $1 million for animals adopted in the New York Metro area through organizations affiliated with the Mayor’s Alliance For New York City’s Animals. Events were held over a two day period across the five boroughs of New York City. All For Animals was at a mega event outside of the Petco in Union Square, Manhattan, were we met Juno and her kittens who were being videotaped for inclusion on the Animal Planet show “Too Cute”. Juno was found in Brooklyn in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. She turned out to be pregnant, and was rescued by Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition.
